In 2008 we began taking off about 2 months every winter, from late November to late January with a focus on the warmer climates of the Southern Hemisphere.  From 2008 to 2013 we rode 2-up (together) on a KTM 950 Adventure through 18 countries in South America and Africa.  In 2014 we mostly backpacked through Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal, though we also rented local motorcycles for excursions.

 

Then in 2015 we bought a Land Rover Td5 Defender 130 in Cape Town, kitted it out for safari/overland travel, and completed the famous Cape to Cairo route over 3 years.  Winter 2018 was down through West Africa.  In 2019 we stopped working, converted the truck into a camper, and have been playing since. Next summer we're thinking of driving from Europe to Central Asia...
